Security agents, involving soldiers and police men storm NFF office in Abuja

The wrestle for leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation has taken a new dimension as soldiers and riot policemen have been placed on red alert at the secretariat of the NFF, denying staff access to the Glass House, today, April 11.

No one except staff of the FRSC properly identified despite having their uniforms on are allowed into the premises because the secretariat also houses the Federal Road Safety Commission.

According to reports, the soldiers and policemen were deployed to the Glass House by the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung.

The deployment of security agents followed the Federal High court ruling which dissolved the Amaju Pinnick led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Board with Chris Giwa vowing to assume his new position on Monday, April 11, 2016.

Giwa was earlier declared the head of NFF following a high court ruling in Jos on Friday April 8, and has stated that his Board will officially start work immediately, an action which could spark the rage of the world’s football governing body, which rejects government interference in the game.

On the other hand, the Pinnick led NFF has swiftly moved to file an appeal, a motion to vacate the order and a motion for a stay-of-execution against the judgement of the Jos High Court, which on Friday April 8, decided to re-list a case brought by Ambassador Chris Giwa against the administration of Amaju Melvin Pinnick.
