Valencia gives Barcelona an unbelievable defeat of 2- 1 at Camp Nou

It was a clash of two titans as Valencia beat Barcelona 2- 1 at the Camp Nou to ensure Luis Enrique’s men drop more points, as Atletico Madrid level with Real Madrid trailing with just one point.

The visitors took the lead when Ivan Rakitic deflected a low-cross into his own net in the 26th minute. The Catalan giants immediately swooped on their opponents with Messi, Neymar and Suarez missing a couple of chances.

Valencia suppressed the pressure and a counter-attack in the 45th minute rewarded them with an unbelievable second goal by Santi Mina, as both teams went into the break with the hosts trailing 0 – 2.

Barcelona returned from the break firing from all cylinders with Valencia repelling all efforts of the Catalans.

After much pressure, five-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi scored to give the league leaders a life-line. The goal was not enough as Valencia fought so hard to run away with all three points as the game ended 1 – 2.

The defeat means Barcelona are now joint-tops with Atletico on 76 points, while Real Madrid are on 75.
